Project BackgroundDuring an emergency call-out, Gasmech Services Ltd identified that the two existing Potterton boilers were in an immediately dangerous condition. One boiler was found to have a severely corroded flue hood, while the other had a split heat exchanger. Due to these critical faults, both boilers were condemned and isolated with site approval. As replacement parts for the existing units are now obsolete, immediate replacement was required to restore service, as the boilers supplied heat to the site’s hot water calorifiers.Project SolutionGasmech Services Ltd presented a competitive design and cost proposal, which was well received by the client. The agreed scope included the installation of two new Baxi Ace boilers, complete with new C33 flue systems, a low loss header, primary pump, and associated pipework modifications. The project was delivered within a two-week programme in the lead-up to Christmas, ensuring the timely restoration of the site’s hot water services. The installation was completed with foil-faced mineral wool insulation, and manufacturer commissioning was carried out to secure an extended warranty.Project ResultThe project represents another successful delivery by the Gasmech Services Ltd team, from initial design through to final commissioning. The installation of two new energy-efficient and reliable boilers ensures the continued provision of hot water for both staff and customers on site.
